People with kidney conditions, high potassium levels, or medicines that affect potassium should seek medical advice before using potassium-based salt substitutes.

02 / Type 2 FAQ
Product information for manufacturers.
Understanding Type 2.
Without the jargon.
Type 2 product information for food manufacturers and distributors.
Request current technical specifications and validate performance in your finished product. This information is not medical advice.
01What is Type 2?
Type 2 is a functional, high-fibre sugar replacement ingredient for food and beverage manufacturers. It is designed to deliver sweetness and a clean, sugar-like taste, with approximately 80% dietary fibre.
02Does Type 2 contain sugar alcohols?
Type 2 contains no sugar alcohols: no erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol or other polyols.
03What are the taste and digestive tolerance characteristics?
Type 2 is formulated to provide no bitter aftertaste and no laxative effect associated with polyols. These are ingredient-level descriptions, not a guarantee of every individual response. Evaluate taste and tolerance in the intended formulation and serving size.
04Can Type 2 be used in products for people managing sugar intake?
Type 2 can be used in reduced-sugar product development for people managing their sugar intake. Suitability of a finished food depends on the full recipe, portion and individual dietary needs. Type 2 is a food ingredient, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent diabetes or any medical condition. Individuals with diabetes should follow advice from their healthcare professional.
05Which food and beverage applications can be explored?
Applications include Indian sweets; bakery and desserts; dairy and ice cream; beverages; and biscuits and snacks. Examples include laddoo, kaju katli, gulab jamun, cakes, cookies, pastries, yogurt, flavoured milk, juices, ready-to-drink beverages, rusks and nutrition bars.

03 / Purpose
The gap is not “healthy food”.
The gap is trusted,
everyday improvement.
Indian consumers should not have to choose between health, taste and trust.
Too many health-positioned products feel niche, medicinal, expensive or difficult to understand. Too many mainstream products deliver familiarity without meaningful nutritional progress.
Kapman exists in the space between those two worlds: familiar categories, intelligently redesigned with better formulation, clearer evidence and a deep respect for how India actually eats.
does it taste right?
Better nutrition only matters at scale when people genuinely want to keep choosing it.
is it meaningfully better?
We look for measurable improvement—not vague wellness language or fashionable claims.
can every claim be explained?
Ingredients, benefits and limitations should stand up to scrutiny, not hide behind packaging.
04 / Platform
Start focused. Build for breadth.
One innovation platform.
Multiple ways to improve everyday nutrition.
Everyday better choices
Small improvements.
Repeated every day.
High-frequency food categories where better formulation can create meaningful cumulative impact without changing familiar habits.
Functional nutrition
Clear purpose.
Easy to understand.
Nutrition designed around real usage occasions, with benefits that can be explained simply and supported responsibly.
B2B innovation
Science that can
travel further.
Selected formulation, co-development and commercial partnerships that help better nutrition reach consumers through established industry channels.
05 / Product discipline
A product has to earn its place.
We do not believe marketing can fix a weak product.
Need
Does it solve a real problem in a frequent behaviour, large category or clear unmet need?
Taste
Will people repurchase it without feeling they are being punished for choosing better health?
Evidence
Are the benefit, ingredients and claims scientifically supportable, clear and responsible?
Economics
Can price, quality, supply and scale work in the Indian market—not just on a presentation slide?
Our no-go rule
A failure of taste, evidence, quality or trust is a product problem—not a marketing challenge.
06 / Trust
Trust must be
operational,
not cosmetic.
Transparency is more than a clean-looking label. It is the discipline to explain what is inside, why it is there, what the product does—and what it does not claim to do.
Plain-language labels
Benefits, intended use and relevant limitations explained clearly.
Evidence behind claims
Claims linked to appropriate testing, literature and regulatory review.
Ingredient context
Practical explanations without fear marketing or ingredient sensationalism.
Quality by design
Supplier standards, repeatable specifications, testing and traceability.
Could we explain every claim and ingredient to a sceptical parent, scientist and regulator at the same table?
07 / Built for India
Science only matters when it works in real life.
Indian tastes.
Indian kitchens.
Indian realities.
Great nutrition innovation cannot be copied and pasted from another market. It has to work with local tastes, price points, formats, regulation, supply chains and everyday habits.
Healthier should still feel familiar and enjoyable.
Innovation has to move beyond a tiny premium niche to matter.
Build toward Indian sourcing, manufacturing and innovation where quality and economics support it.
Launch fewer products, learn quickly, and expand only when the evidence is there.
Our manifesto
Better food.
Backed by science.
Built for India.
We will make everyday food intelligently better. Taste should not be the price of health. “Healthy” must mean something measurable. Every ingredient deserves an honest explanation. Science matters only when it works in real kitchens and at real price points. Trust will be earned batch by batch, claim by claim and decision by decision.
